Custom foot orthotics are medical inserts for your shoes that correct the way you stand, walk or run. Many people suffer pain that can be caused by abnormal foot biomechanics. Your feet and the way you walk might be the reason you are experiencing a variety of symptoms. The most common reasons our health care professionals prescribe orthotics are for pain in the heel/arch, low back, hip, knee, and forefoot. Other symptoms orthotics are used for include diabetic feet, hip pain, Achilles pain, shin pain, IT band syndrome and more. Pressure points, improper rotation of the foot, painful muscle strain, abnormal forces on the legs, hips and spine are eliminated because orthotics enable your feet to function properly.

At Uptown Rehabilitation & Wellness Centre we perform an individualized analysis of your feet, posture and gait. This provides us with an accurate assessment of any biomechanical faults. Your feet are then casted in a non-weight bearing subtalar neutral position to ensure the optimal accommodation and control with each step.

The orthotics are thin (1/8" thick) and lightweight. They fit easily and comfortably into your existing footwear. Our orthotics provide superior control, correction and performance enhancement for foot and gait abnormalities.
